CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — More than two dozen people will share a $1 million Powerball prize.
West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave says the 27-member group bought a ticket at RJ's Dry Hill Merchants in Beckley that matched five numbers for the Feb. 8 Powerball drawing.
Musgrave says the group is now known as "The Beckley 27". Each member will receive more than $25,000.
Two group members, Diana Slone and Lisa Stadelman, claimed the prize on Tuesday.
Slone says most of the winners are employees at The Register-Herald in Beckley.
The Beckley ticket was the fourth $1 million ticket sold in West Virginia for Powerball and Mega Millions drawings since Dec. 17, 2013. Two tickets haven't been claimed.
