WALLBACK, W.Va. (AP) — A Clay County man has been charged with child abuse after West Virginia State Police say he injured his twin infant daughters.
Authorities say 29-year-old Richard Solomon Osborne of Wallback was charged on Tuesday. He was being held in Central Regional Jail while awaiting arraignment.
Police said in a news release that troopers received a 911 call from a social worker at Charleston Area Medical Center's Women and Children's Hospital. After the responding to the hospital, they learned the seven-week-old infants had severe injuries including several broken bones and brain bleeds.
According to the release police believe that Osborne "violently grabbed the infants as they were crying and held them tightly against his chest."
