ELKINS, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office says the father of four children who died in an Elkins house fire has also succumbed to his injuries.
Assistant state fire marshal Mark Lambert says the man died Tuesday night at the West Penn Burn Center in Pennsylvania.
The children's mother and an adult male who was also present when the fire began remain in the hospital.
Lambert said Wednesday he's not yet revealing identities. But more information could be released later in the day.
Investigators have finished working at the scene but have not yet revealed the cause of the fire.
Also killed were 2-year-old twins, a 4-year-old and an 11-year-old.
Elkins Fire Chief Tom Meader (MEE'-dur) says the fire blocked the house's main exits. The only smoke detector didn't have batteries.
