As Mayor of Paden City, along with the members of the city council, we are working diligently to move Paden City forward by cleaning up, and repurposing many former industrial sites, such as Corning Glassworks Property into usable safe space for new business and public use. The Brownfield redevelopment projects are crucial for attracting new investments in our community. We will be working as a team to clean up residential properties and dilapidated structures and buildings.

Modernizing infrastructures along with ongoing work to improve the city’s water quality, is only possible by the city’s water stripper plant. This was accomplished while the city was addressing legacy environmental hazards that came before city management. Our goal is to move forward in replacing water lines throughout the town that dates back nearly one-hundred years. The water line project has been taking place and will continue into the future. Finding funding for this project is an on-going effort on the part of the council members.

We are proud that last year our town’s sewer system received an award for excellence. To that end, we are in the process of breaking ground on a five-million-dollar project that is funded by the Corps of Engineers to install a compression sludge system that will make the disposal of cake sludge easier to dispose of with increased efficiency.

In the near future a work project will begin to improve and enhance the campsites alongside the Ohio River. This project to remove twelve inches of soil will allow a layer of heavy metal contaminated soil to be removed. This effort will be paid for by a grant in the sum of $350,000.

The town docks need to be replaced and we were hoping to receive grant funding for this project. But as of the present time, we have not received funding, but we will continue our efforts to bring back the boat docks.

The members of the city’s park and pool commission have worked diligently to secure a donation from Antero. This donation will help to construct new dugouts, paint buildings in the park, and bring improvements to the ballfields and the softball league.

The Paden City Development Authority has stepped up and taken ownership of the high school building. They have succeeded in bringing new revenue, along with new tenants to cover improvements and utility’s cost. The PCDA efforts have in the past, and into the future, made a major investment in bringing economic improvements to former industrial structures, and business.

Paden City leaders recognize that over the past 100 years, the town has seen many changes. And we are working to restore that energy back into the city, which we have always possessed as a proud town. With the support of community members working together, and building on our being a tight knit community, success came in the past, and will again in the future.
