Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease
Recently the wife and I took a ride out our ridge to check out some road work that had been completed. The road I am talking about starts from Doolin Run Road and marked C.R. 1/2, 1 slash over 2. And ends at Rt. 89 near Proctor with a road sign marked C.R. 1/2 also. The signs are a little confusing, as where it starts on Doolin itás marked American Ridge Road 1/2 and the other end where it ends says Huff Ridge Road 1/2 also.
Anyway ask Jack Mason and itás all Huff Ridge Road. The road work that was done was on far end toward Proctor (Price Hill). The hill was closed off b y the Department of Highways for a couple years due to severe neglet! There were those who said âThey will never reopen it.ã Well, thatás where the squeaky wheel comes in.
Thanks to neighbors i the area Mr. and Mrs. Larry Casto and Joe and Kim Horner and other concwerned citizens raising their voices the Hill is open again. Delegate Dave Pethel made it happen with meetings with WV Highway District 6 (Tony Clark) and Blue Racer Midstream. If I were giving grades for contributing to the project, I would give Dave Pethel an A+ for making it happen. A+ also for Blue Racer Midstream for supplying manpower and equipment on the project. And a C+ for District 6 (Tony Clark) he did drag his feet some but supplied gravel and pipe. And Aás for all the concerned neighbors for raising their voices and contributions.
Hopefully Dodtrict 6 will not neglect the hill (Price Hill) again. And I do notice itás needing a little routine maintenance already. Iám very glad to see Price Hill open again.
