Dear Editor,
I don’t know why Iám writing this letter on January 31, 2023. I guessit’s because our children and grandchildren lost another day of school, and why? Some administrators made a remark about playing in the snow. Does anyone remember the extended X-MAS break when other systems around us attended school till the day before normal break.
I taught in Marshall County schools and I donát remember anything like what we’re seeing now in the system. The old administration would roll over in their graves.
As a teacher that was paid by the state and county, we were paid to educate their children (parents). The teachers of old were dedicated to teaching, if not we quit, and went to industry, not paid by taxes.
If I were a parent I would be calling the board and asking why such bad decisions are made. It was bad enough COVID 19, knocked the sock off kids. A year behind.
Unless you’re just totally “woke” get involved with your children and grandchildren.
Sincerely, Larry Ritz
