Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Neighbors helping Neighbors: On Monday, August 9, at 4 p.m. on Rt. 250 just North of Cameron, WV, both the North and South lanes were blocked due to a large 60 foot tree that fell across the road. Cars and trucks in both directions stopped and got out of their vehicles to evaluate the situation. After thinking if we should call the DOH-WV, we decided we could do the job ourselves and clear the highway in record time.
From 4 p.m. until cleared at 4:51 p.m., over 16 volunteers worjked to clear the lanes. Two chain saws were used and many people pitched in to clear the lanes for open traffic. No one complained, they just worked quietly and safely to clear the lanes on Rt. 250 for passage.
What a wonderful scene with volunteers working hard and safely in the tree downed area. There were a few people (younger 20-30) who stayed in their cars and trucks not wanting to help the other volunteers. However it was terrific that many people still care about residents in the WV area. A big salute to all the volunteers who pitched in and removed the entire tree and branches.
God Bless everyone!!!!!!
