To The Editor,
Now here is some food for thought.
Are these pennies from heaven on the buffet, or are they from the taxpayers’ pockets?
Our legislators have brought up impeachment charges against our state’s high court justices for outrageous spending of the taxpayer’s money, which I am all for, but the question this old malcontent has is this: Could this just be the magician’s trick to have the voters watching one hand, while they are picking the voter’s pockets with the other hand? The good old boys and girls of both major political parties have become very good at this. That is why your grandchildren will be paying off their spending debt.
I say send the big spenders of our tax dollars home and let them spend some of their own money for a change, instead of yours and mine.
Rather than doing spring housecleaning, let’s get together and do some fall housecleaning. Maybe your great-grandchildren will thank you for it.
But being somewhat of a realist, I have trouble seeing this happening. From the past voter turnouts, the good old boys and girls can feel pretty secure in their positions.
Ignore the Constitution and it will go away.
