When I was recently home visiting family, I decided to get some exercise and took a run through some of Wetzel County’s backroads. Instead of encountering the beauty of nature, however, I was shocked by the amount of trash and litter lining Wetzel County’s roads. I was so appalled that I gathered my family and we spent two hours that afternoon picking up trash along Chiselfinger Ridge. The trash on the roads makes a terrible impression to outsiders! West Virginians are a pretty proud bunch-proud to tell everyone about the wonders of this state. But for being so proud of being from West Virginia, too many West Virginians have no problem trashing it up!
