From Chris Neff
To The Editor,
The Paden City High School softball team would like to express our sincerest thanks to everyone who was involved with the installation of new lights at the softball field in Paden City Park. A tremendous amount of time and effort went into the planning and execution of this project, which fulfilled a wish that has existed for many years. A special thanks goes to Dan Probst for organizing and planning the project. Dan does a tremendous amount of work for the Paden City sports programs, much of it behind the scenes. He doesn’t do it for the recognition, but his help and involvement is invaluable and needs to be recognized. Also, a huge thanks goes to Jim Matheny who spent many hours volunteering his time, energy and expertise to complete this major project. His involvement was vital, and we couldn’t say thank you enough. Others who helped were Joe Matheny and Keaton Housel, and we thank you. There may have been others, and your efforts are appreciated as well. We also want to thank and recognize Allegheny Power for their assistance in setting the light poles and Bridgeport Equipment for donating the use of equipment that was essential for completing the job.
The entire project epitomized the spirit of our small town values. We rely on eachother for help and support, and this helps keep our schools and afterschool activities going strong. There are many that volunteer so much time and effort – not just in our community, but in surrounding ones as well. You are commended for your service. Keep up the good work.
