To the Editor,
Just a little food for thought.
When we see the word party, what comes to mind?
In my mind’s eye, I see several people gathered for a good time. Then, I put the word “political” in front of the word party. Then I see the two major political parties, which have been in control of our government for at least the last hundred years.
Then I think what a party they have been having at the taxpayer’s expense. They spend our tax dollars like there is no tomorrow, and what they can’t spend they give away to other countries to spend for them. If there isn’t enough revenue from our tax dollars, they borrow from our children’s future.
It is almost impossible to believe what our national debt is. But the party goes on!
I don’t think any self-respecting parents who love their children would want to live off their children’s future, but what else are we doing when we keep those big spenders from both of the two major political parties in office.
It isn’t like we don’t have a choice – yet.
There are other candidates from the alternate parties that we could vote for, that most of the voters over look or never hear about from the fourth estate.
In West Virginia we have five candidates in this election on the ballot for governor, but most of the media will only give the two major parties’ candidates any coverage.
Maybe keeping the public informed is no longer important to the fourth estate? So the party goes on until the money and credit runs out.
