From Elizabeth Thomas
As a representative of Wetzel & Tyler Counties Right to Life, I would like to thank all those who contributed to our annual fundraiser, which culminated with our Walk & Rally on May 16. Thanks especially to the walkers and participants and to Mr. Phil Chatting, our speaker from Women’s Choice Pregnancy Resource Center in Charleston. These are the faces of Pro-Life. These are the people who give not only their money but their time and effort for Life and for God’s purposes. We must be pro-active and shine a Light in this area of Darkness, where tiny lives are sacrificed for convenience and women’s lives are secretly and long-lastingly devastated. And let’s not forget the would-be fathers and grandfathers and grandmothers deprived of a child or children.
No, the Darkness is not so thick around our area. Abortion is not so prevalent. Women with unplanned pregnancies often have their babies here. But the atmosphere is entirely different in Charleston, Mr. Chatting told us. And in Morgantown as well, where Planned Parenthood – known as the biggest advocates and providers of abortion – is currently planning a site to reach college and other women. Please pray against this happening. The proceeds from our Walk – a little over $3,000 – went to these two pregnancy help centers.
For more than 20 years, Wetzel County Right to Life has had a booth at Town & Country Days in New Martinsville. Now, as a resident of Tyler County, I would like to rally enough people to man the booth for a few hours each evening at Tyler County Fair, August 3 – 8. Thousands of people pass through these events and some can and will be affected by our presence. I hope some of you have been especially inspired or angered to call me and volunteer For Life!
