Dear Editor,

Traveling through New Martinsville on Thursday of last week, on my way to Wheeling, I checked the price of gasoline at Speedway store was $3.39 a gallon. I needed to purchase gasoline; however, as always, I knew the price would be 20 to 30 cents less in Glen Dale, so I waited to purchase it there. And it was $3.00 a gallon at the Speedway store there, 39 cents less!

And another thing, why is the price of gasoline at the south end and the north end of New Martinsville almost always 10 cents less than the stores located a mile or less from those stores? We have to buy gasoline, but if everyone, or maybe half of the people, when buying their gasoline in New Martinsville would buy just their gasoline and nothing else-no cigarettes, beer Big Gulp soft drinks, or lottery tickets-maybe this would send a message to the owners that this needs to stop. If people would stick together and do this the owners would see a change, but you know, and I know-everybody knows-that won’t happen! So let’s just smile and give the suckers their money, or maybe, we are the suckers . . . surely not.
