To The Editor,
Another benefit was done Saturday for a three-year-old boy with leukemia at Captain Richards and it was a success.
I want to give credit to Lou Ann Beaty Anderson who put this benefit on and has done three others. Lou Ann is the owner of Captain Richards and Choo Choo’s restaurants here in New Martinsville.
If you have never put on a benefit, you don’t realize what it consists of. The amount of organizing and doing all the preparations that need to be done in order to be a success can be overwhelming. I know this because I put one on for the late Patrolman Bruce Smith who passed away. If it had not been for Lou Ann, I would have had a failure. I didn’t know how much work was involved in the process of having and organizing a benefit.
She supplies most of the food that her staff and a few volunteers prepares and gets items for the silent auctions. I would also like to thank the merchants who donate as well, and are usually the same persons each time.
This shows that she has a heart for the persons that are in need and does a great job in helping these persons.
If you see Lou Ann, you should compliment her for the outstanding job that she has done with the benefits that she had put on for people in need.
