From James Moore
I am an inmate at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex, the state’s maximum security prison. I have a few issues with the court system. It was around the first week of March when the adult parole officer stated that people that just get sentenced need to do their classes and not get into trouble and things.
I have been write-up free for over seven years and currently reside on the honor pod. I have taken all of the classes required and recommended and/or “ordered” by the court, except for two, which I have to wait until I am closer to my parole date.
I submitted a Rule 35(b), (Reconsideration and/or Reduction of Sentence). I had an attorney, but he never did anything for two years. I am only asking for a chance to have my sentence reduced and be able to take care of my mother and daughter. I am asking for a chance at life once more.
I am quite puzzled as how people who received the same charges that I received somehow managed to receive much less time than I did. It just appears that something is not fair and equal in the court system.
I would like to hear from the people and see what all of you have to say concerning the court system in this county. If you don’t want to write to the paper, please feel free to write me at the following address:
