Our community continues to honor and bring to light our fallen heroes that are sent into battle, remembering that each flag represents a face, a family, and friends who will always have a hole in their heart.

The Department of Defense casualty list states that there are now 6,453 members of our military that have given the ultimate sacrifice for us. Since we received the flags last August here in New Martinsville, 255 brave young men and women have given their lives.

The Field of Flags is now located at South Congregational church, East Hartford, Conn. May their presence there and in future communities help bring to light the sacrifices that are being made for us in Afghanistan and Iraq.
