“It raineth on the just and on the unjust.”

Like the WVU-Marshall game, the 50th anniversary edition of the Reader Marathon was conducted in the midst of a downpour. (In retrospect, we should have included a canoe/kayak category.)

I would personally thank Carla McBee and the Wetzel County Emergency Ambulance Service, Kevin Hail and the Reader Volunteer Fire Department, J.C. Mensore Distributing, Domino’s Pizza, Morgan Fairchild of Wheeling, and finally to our “angels” Jeremy McCamic, Bob Fitzsimmons, Jim Bordas of Wheeling, and Tom Madden of Glen Dale.

Lastly, I would thank the race director, Scott Speedy, and his inamorta. For those who may want a commemorative T-shirt ($12.50) or heave duty sweatshirt ($22.50), they should call Mr. Speedy at 304-780-3167.
