From Diane Strippel
Dear Readers,
This May 14 you have an opportunity to Walk for Life and support two pregnancy care centers in West Virginia.
We seem to live in a “throw-away” society. Phones and computers only last a few years, paper plates and cups replace fine china, etc.
Convenience and speed may have become idols; for instance, text messages with abbreviated words instead of letters or phone calls. Have you ever stood in front of the microwave impatiently waiting?
Sadly, our society is even “throwing away” its children because they came at the wrong time or cost too much or slow down another goal.
The annual WALK FOR LIFE sponsored by Wetzel & Tyler Counties Right to Life is May 14 beginning at the City Building at 11:30 am.
The Walk will proceed to Bruce Park for a rally, music, food, and speaker; if you can’t make the walk, join us for the rally around noon. You can pick up sponsor sheets and information at Quinet’s Restaurant. Please get others to come or to sponsor you in the walk.
All and any donations will be appreciated; funds will be divided between the Labor of Love in Morgantown (they provide a maternity home, a Christian school, abortion alternative counseling, post-abortion counseling, free ultrasounds through doctors on their board, and teen mom classes) and Woman’s Choice in Charleston. Woman’s Choice offers counseling, parenting classes, and children’s clothing and other baby items.
So I hope to see you there. Bring your friends, your children, and your neighbors. For more information call Donna at 304-455-6137.
