From Barb Blain
The New Martinsville School PTO recently held its Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25th. Nearly 400 area children attended along with their parents, and a good time was had by all. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our parents and students as this was our first attempt, and we were very pleased by the turn out from the community.
We will be making some adjustments for next year. These will include adding the large gym in the main part of the school to allow for more room, providing more ticket booths, more games, and a larger haunted house to name a few.
Also, we would like to thank our sponsors for helping make our first Fall Festival such a success. They were PPG Industries, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, Moose Lodge 931, Citywide, Budget Finance, Yoho Logging, Ace Hardware, Quinet’s Court Restaurant, William Sorsby, NMS teachers for baking cakes and goodies for our cake walk, Matt Quinet and Sarah Bohrer for judging our costume contest, and MHS Student Council and NMS seventh and eighth grade students for working all the carnival games.
A special thanks also goes out to all the NMS parents who have helped plan and organize this event since August. We are hoping the second annual NMS Fall Festival will be even bigger and better. See ya next year!
Sincerely,
Barb Blain
