This past week has been an eventful one. With COVID-19 consuming the minds of many, a lot of tough decisions have been made. When you’re talking about our youth and our elderly, there is never enough precaution that can be taken. However, our school admisistrators and community leaders are doing the best they can and making great decisions.

Schools have been shut down, and precautionary measures put in place to ensure the safety of everyone. While only so much can be done to combat the situation, we still have to go on living our lives as close to normal as possible.

Community events can still take place if we use good judgement and common sense. It was good to see all the young kids out trick or treating with many of the town people participating. Some of the fondest memories we have are the fun times we enjoyed during our youth days on trick or treat night.

Giving out treats to the young folks has been the tradition all over the country for many years. Some have questioned the safety of trick or treating this year, but it seems each community event was well organized with safety the number one priority.

Nothing is more exciting than watching the young folks as they enjoy the cool October evening while out canvasing their town to fill up their treat bags. While this year was not your normal Halloween year, it was still a great one as many homeowners decorated, churches and schools participated, and some communities even had drive up treat give aways. One of the safest ways of celebrating the occassion has been the trunk or treat events, which have become more popular over the past few years.

Fall is a wonderful season, we watch the transformation of the leaves, and the beauty of the season, while waiting in anxious anticipation for the two biggest holidays of the year, “Thanksgiving and Christmas.” It will soon be upon us. With the election now behind us, let’s move forward to make America the best and safest place in the world. It is our duty to keep America the land of the free and home of the brave, anything less is unacceptable.
