Spring Forward, and Support Students
It’s a sunny, clear and blue-skied day here in our area. And by the time we prepare next week’s editorial, we will have “sprung” forward. Remember, Daylight Savings Time begins March 11. The extra daylight makes for longer days and soon-to-be official arrival of Spring.
Spring has always been associated as a time of rebirth and renewal. The temperatures become warmer; the grass becomes greener, and the trees and flowers show their best and brightest as they begin budding and blooming.
Besides the weather, we hope the changing of the clocks and calendar pages bring sunnier and happier times to our local news area as well.
We sincerely hope there is a resolution soon in which all parties feel satisfied, our teachers and service personnel feel appreciated, and our kids are back in their classrooms. As of this writing, it appears an agreement has been reached.
In the meantime, how about supporting some local students? Check out our page 16 this week.
The Magnolia girls basketball team has made it to the state tournament! They play their first game against Tucker County at 9:30 a.m. on March 8.
Furthermore, consider stopping by the annual Wetzel County Ham & Bacon sale Friday night. It is always an exciting and well-attended event.
Our students have worked diligently in their academic, athletic, and vocational endeavors. We owe them accolades for their hard-work and efforts.
