We Are With Pine Grove
We know every municipality has its trials, but we really feel for the people of Pine Grove. For weeks now, the people have dealt with issues stemming from an outdated and broken sewage system.
Because of these problems, there are some residents that have resorted to washing their hair on their porch, with a bucket of water. Or, they travel out of town to just use the restroom. They have spent hours, cleaning gallons of sewage out of their basements.
This is unacceptable.
If you read this week’s story on the issue, you will see that a new pump has been installed on the sewage system. Now the town is just waiting for an additional part that will allow the system to pump automatically.
We hope this takes care of the problem.
And, like the residents we spoke to, we support Mayor Barbara King, Recorder Rhonda Spencer, and council members as they work toward a solution.
We support the town employees who have been working non-stop.
For fellow Wetzel County residents, we ask that you do what you can to support your neighbors. We applaud Hundred Councilman Chipper Goff, who encouraged his town to donate bottled water and sanitary hand wipes to the people of Pine Grove. We are grateful to companies such as Mark West, Erb Electric, Energy Transport, RDR Energy, and Gump’s Septic who have donated time and funds.
We might all live on separate hills and in separate valleys, but at the end of the day, we are Wetzel County.
