Invest in Energy Kids
In this week’s Wetzel Chronicle, we have mentioned Short Line School’s Engineer Energy Kids a couple of different times.
On page 16, we featured a donation made by Eureka Midstream, to the group. Also, in our front page Ramp Fest preview, we have mentioned various ways the kids can be supported at this weekend’s festival – such as through the Ramp Festival’s 5K.
We’ve certainly mentioned this special group of students before, advised by Short Line School’s Leslie Lively, in previous editions of the Wetzel Chronicle.
The 2014-2015 Engineer Energy Kids were chosen as the National Energy Education Development Project (NEED) Project WV Elementary School of the Year, as well as the National Elementary School of the Year. In 2016, Lively’s students were named the National Runner Up, and captured the state title again.
The kids will be making a now-annual trip to Washington, D.C. in June, for the annual NEED Youth Awards.
We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to support these kids.
These youth are providing a beneficial representation of our area, and our county’s schools.
Giving to them allows them to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Giving is an investment to our future, a priceless investment.
