A Generous Community
We know we’ve repeated it often, via our editorials, but it is just as often that we are amazed by the generosity of the area we live in. Look through the pages of this week’s Wetzel Chronicle, and you will see instances of our community’s giving spirit.
To recap … New Martinsville’s Anytime Fitness scheduled a special training for the city’s volunteer fire department; Dominion donated to Wetzel County’s Family Resource Network; The Lions Club and Witschey’s Galaxy joined forces to help four local families at Christmastime… These are just a few examples of the generosity that is abundant in our area.
We encourage you, as well, to give when you can. As you can see in our Letters to the Editor section, Billie Zimmerman and Brittany Young, NMPD dispatchers and organizers of the “Calm Stocking of Cheer” program, wrapped up their stocking campaign just a month ago, but they are already working on how to make their program bigger and better for 2017. If you can, please consider helping this cause. Any donation, either monetary or stocking stuffers, would be greatly appreciated, and can truly make a difference.
