School Year Resolutions
Oftentimes we think of the New Year’s holiday as being a time for resolutions and new beginnings. Perhaps a new school year can serve the same sort of purpose – for students, teachers, parents, and community members.
For students, we would encourage you to make the most of the 2016-2017 school year. If you talk to recent graduates, we are almost certain you would be given similar advice. Years from now, you will look back on this time and realize just how quickly it passed.
Have no regrets. Consider extracurricular activities. Challenge yourself, and strive for improvement. Do your part in making your environment – your school – a better place, the best it can be. If you notice bullying, or suspect drug or alcohol use, don’t hesitate to reach out to a teacher, your principal, your Prevention Resource Officer, a parent, or another trusted adult.
Teachers and parents, let’s focus on the positives while working together diligently for a better and brighter future for our kids.
Whether it be alerting us to a contest winner, a scholarship recipient, a fun school activity, or game stats for our sports department – we encourage you to help us do our part to achieve our own resolutions as a community paper. Send us the highlights of the 2016-2017 school year to us, and allow us to spread the excellence and bright future of our area schools.
