Help The Chamber Pay It Forward

By Staff | Jul 13, 2016

The deadline to apply for the Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce’s “Pay It Forward” grant is Friday, July 15.

We hope that all applicable organizations have turned in applications.

If you recall, the June 22 edition of the Wetzel Chronicle featured photos of the ribbon cutting at Paden City’s Butterfly Garden. The $500 “Pay It Forward” grant, combined with approximately 125 hours of labor and love, revived Adam Cross’s 2007 Eagle Scout project and allows the Paden City Butterfly Garden to give back to its community.

Walkers have the opportunity to enjoy the attractive display of plants and flowers, and the garden gives a refreshing facelift to the community.

Those who have similar aspirations – a vision to better the community – need to head online to www.wetzelcountychamber.com to fill out an application, or stop by the chamber at 201 Main Street, New Martinsville. Those with questions can call the chamber at 304-455-3825.

The vision of the Paden City Butterfly Garden was able to blossom, thanks to the chamber’s support; we are excited to see what other organizations will be able to “Pay It Forward.”
