As evidenced by the resources in the story on the front page about fighting drug abuse, there is help for those who are struggling with drug abuse.
The reality is that every facet of the community has its way of helping. And furthermore, the reality is that every facet of the community must help. As previously noted, not one of us is immune to addiction. We will all be affected some way-whether we have kids who are growing up in a community with hidden meth labs and hidden needles; whether our kids are associating with those who are engaging in those methods of abuse, whether our tax dollars go toward the various treatment programs or incarceration of those who commit drug-related crimes, or whether someone we have known, who struggled with addiction, has finally succumbed to the struggle.
As Winston Churchill once said, “The price of greatness is responsibility.” In order to keep our communities great, and even elevate them from their current level, we must all take some responsibility in the fight against drugs.
