We don’t think our community can say thank you enough to those involved in last week’s drug indictments. To see such a massive operation result in charges makes us think the war on drugs is still being waged.

So many times people think law enforcement officers and prosecution are doing nothing about the drug problem. People say, “Everyone knows who the drug addicts and dealers are, why can’t they arrest them?” It’s simply not that easy. Rules must be followed; evidence must be meticulously collected. Sometimes it just takes time. This was our community’s time and we are thankful for the arrests.

Now do your part in making drugs unavailable. Drop off your extra prescription drugs during Rx Drug Takeback Day on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the New Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department (Ohio Street) and in Pine Grove at Norris Pharmacy.
