As we look back on the headlines of 2008, we can’t help but be struck by the two tragic carbon monoxide incidents. The worst part is that they were preventable.

Senseless acts of violence that usually top headlines are bad enough, but when they are easily preventable tragedies, all we can do is shake our heads, offer sympathy, and hope that others will learn from the past. Please, take care to prevent such news in 2009.
