It seems like bad news is the only kind of news on the front of this edition of the Wetzel Chronicle. Unfortunately we must report the bad with the good.

The accidents reported include three deaths and three more injured badly enough to require transport to a facility larger than Wetzel County Hospital–an institution known intimately by one of this week’s victims, Pat Bonyak, a diabetes educator.

When we went to put some photos on this page of people reading the Wetzel Chronicle, we saw that a photo of Pat and her husband Dick had been waiting for publishing. We paused to consider if it should be printed or not. We decided perhaps it might be a nice way to remember a happy moment in the midst of the sad and a way to give a face to the name you might know but maybe just can’t place. We offer our condolences to the Bonyak family and all the others facing tragedy this week.
