Sanford Clegg, Jr., 90, of Paden City, WV died Tuesday, December 9, 2025 while at Belmont Health Care Center.

Sanford was born January 1, 1935, in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Sanford and Emma (Myers) Clegg Sr.

He was a very proud Korean War Veteran, past president of the New Martinsville Senior Citizens and was an avid Paden City football and basketball fan. He was also a huge fan of the WVU Mountaineers. He loved to camp and spend time with his wife, Lola and kids. Sanford and Lola spent a lot of time on lunch dates at Burger King and McDonalds. Among other things, candy bars had a special place in his heart. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Lola Clegg; siblings, Charles Clegg, Ida Mae Clegg, and Mona Ann Raber; daughter, Candy Sue; granddaughter, Nikola Blevins.

Surviving are his sons, Sanford Clegg III of Paden City, WV, Clifford (Linda) Clegg of Fort Worth, TX; grandkids, Vanessa (Daniel) Yoho of New Martinsville, WV, Brittney Clegg of New Martinsville, WV, Benjamin Clegg of Fort Worth, TX, Brian (Kelsie) Clegg of New Martinsville, WV, Mary Clegg of Fort Worth, TX, Andrew (Catherine) Clegg of Fort Worth, TX and Cody Clegg of Avella, PA; great grandkids, Cameron Blevins, Dawson Arman, Kayleigh Arman, Brayden Clegg, Bristol Clegg, Elias Clegg, Harper Clegg, and Jaelynn Blevins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Jarvis Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, where services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025 with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
