Carlton Grant Norris
Carlton Grant Norris, 84, of New Martinsville, WV, died Thursday, December 11, 2025 at home with family.
Carlton was born April 25,1941, in Mount Vernon, Ohio the son of the late Raymond and Edna (Hiles) Norris.
He was a faithful member and elder of the Steelton church of Christ, and was previously an elder at the Pine Grove church of Christ. He preached part-time at several local congregations and loved to lead congregational singing. Carlton and his family and another family attended the Long Valley church of Christ and helped to rebuild the congregation when membership had declined.
Carlton was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1964 graduate of WVU School of Pharmacy. He worked at Harman’s Drug Store and Salem Drug and then he opened Norris Pharmacy in 1968 in Pine Grove. He retired and sold the pharmacy after an illness. Carlton was very involved in the community where he employed many high school students in the pharmacy as well as being a preceptor for the WVU School of Pharmacy.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara Postlethwait Norris, his daughters Jeanette (Alex) Freshley, Elizabeth (Jerry) Cremeans, grandchildren: Lindsey and Joey (Kirsten) Cremeans, Alex, Alyssa and Deanna Freshley and 2 great grandchildren.

Friends received noon – 4 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Jarvis Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2025. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
