Theodore T. “Ted” Kacor
Theodore T. “Ted” Kacor, age 92, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Monday May 26, 2025, at Morgantown Healthcare Center, Morgantown, WV.
He was born April 26, 1933, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late John S. and Stella E. Partyka Kacor.
He was a retired employee of Bayer Chemical Corp., a U.S. Navy Korean Conflict Veteran, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Martinsville, Holy Name Society, Spieler’s Club, and lifetime member of Moose Lodge # 931 New Martinsville, where he flipped many hamburgers at Moose picnics. Ted volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and Bingo and Fish Frys at St. Vincent. He was active in Little League, grasshopper basketball and Magnolia Athletic Boosters. Ted loved to bowl, golf, play cards & games and regularly donated blood and worked blood drives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Helen Gretchen Kaufman Kacor and sons-in-law, William “Bill” Stewart and Gerald Kooser; infant brother, Eugene Kacor and sister, Mary C. Raske.
Survivors include six children, Becky Kooser of Katy, TX, Karen Stewart of Morgantown, WV, Debbie (Percy) Talkington of New Martinsville, WV, John (Mindy) Kacor of New Martinsville, WV, Gretchen (Rob) Fauber of Cibolo, TX, and Tom Kacor of New Martinsville, WV; 11 grandchildren, Erin Daugherty, Tyler Kooser, Kelly Dyer, Blaine Stewart, Ted Talkington, Rachel Kocher, Katy Roush, Brendan & Jared Kacor, Matthew & Mitchell Fauber; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where Rosary Devotions will be recited Friday at 7:00 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 am at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 21 Rosary Road New Martinsville, WV, with Fr. Joseph Abraham as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery New Martinsville, with Military Honors.
