Richard Dexter Arnett

Richard Dexter Arnett, 81, of Paden City, WV took the next step on his journey on Saturday, April 5, 2025 while at New Martinsville Health and Rehab.

Richard was born January 26, 1944, in Wheeling, WV son of the late Dexter C. and Jean R. (Ericsson) Arnett Ashcraft.

He was a retired crane operator for the former Ormet, a U.S. Army Reserve, huge Steelers and Pirates fan, enjoyed watching westerns, was a member of American Legion Marne Post #28, Sistersville VFW Post #6327 and Sistersville Elks Lodge #333. A graduate of Hundred High School and member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his children, Stephen Arnett of Shadyside, OH and Nancy Fletcher of Newport, OH; two grandchildren, Terry and Elizabeth Winter; two siblings, John (Bette) Arnett of Haymarket, VA and Joanna (Ron) Casto of Paden City, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Jarvis Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Burial to be held at the convenience of the family.
