Shirley Huggins Rogers

Shirley Huggins Rogers, 87, of New Martinsville, WV died Monday, February 17, 2025 with her family by her side.

She was born March 6, 1937, to the late Emory and Clarice Huggins.

Shirley was a former employee of PPG, the editor of the Wetzel Democrat (Chronicle), and long-time employee of the Recorders office in New Martinsville, she served as a Water Board Secretary for forty-two years until her retirement at the age of eighty-two.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Charles Robert Rogers; beloved sister, Juanita Parsons; sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Mary Jo Gaiser; in-laws Charles and Gertrude Rogers.

Surviving are sons, Mike (Sheila) Rogers, Dan (Tammy) Rogers and Eric Rogers; daughter, Susan Kotson; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Huggins, brother-in-law, John (Nora) Parsons, numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Thank you to special friends, Janet Jones, Bev Gibb, Sandi Lamm and the Good Samaritan Ladies of New Martinsville United Methodist Church along with Pastor Jeff Kanode for coming to minister to her in her final days. She was loved and will be missed.

A memorial will be schedule at a later time.
