Kent Roger Hornbrook

Kent Roger Hornbrook was born to Dr. Kent M. and Marjorie H. Hornbrook in New Martinsville, WV. He attended Magnolia High School and upon graduation enrolled in the School of Pharmacy at West Virginia University. Roger began graduate studies at the University of Michigan in 1958, graduating with a PhD in Pharmacology. After post-doctoral studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Roger took his first faculty position at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In 1972, Roger joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, retiring as chair of the Pharmacology Department, College of Pharmacy. Roger married Lois Jane Schupbach in 1958, in New Martinsville, WV. While living in Atlanta, Roger and Lois adopted their daughter, Jane

Catherine. Oklahoma City became their home in 1972. They found their church home at Central Presbyterian Church, where Roger served as Deacon, Elder, Treasurer and volunteered for other duties in the church. Roger is survived by his wife Lois, daughter Jane Krause and her husband John, as well as beloved grandchildren Catherine and Matthew Krause. Roger is also survived by brothers Dr. Robert H. Hornbrook, of Morgantown, and William R. Hornbrook (Linda) of New Martinsville. A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9 at 4:00pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma City.
