Deborah Ann Keough
Deborah Ann Keough, 74, of New Martinsville, WV passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024 while at Westwood Place in Woodsfield, OH. She was born February 5, 1950, in Latrobe, PA the daughter of the late Clair “Jake” and Louise (Walters) Keough. Debbie’s aunt Toni Walters also preceded her in death.
A native of Grove City, PA Debbie completed a teaching degree at Westminster College. Serving for thirty-six years as an elementary teacher for Wetzel County Schools, Debbie taught at Smithfield, Short Line and New Martinsville School. Best known as a favorite teacher by many of her former students Debbie’s passion for teaching was exemplified by her devotion to seeing her students succeed in the classroom. Her trademark Mother’s Day Tea was an annual classroom event which is lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be in her classroom. Debbie was a member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church and P.E.O.-Chapter U. An avid Steeler fan, she had season tickets for over twenty years.
Debbie leaves behind many treasured friends especially her “adopted sisters”, Lil Pierce, Dana Haines and Beth Lowe. Her former student, Jeremy Shepherd, adopted her beloved dog Izzy.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church with a celebration luncheon to follow at the church.

Debbie’s family would like to thank the staff at Westwood Place and Amedisys Hospice for the impeccable care and love they provided to Debbie especially during her final days. She was so fond of her Westwood family.
