Keith Ronald Moore,

86, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at home with his family.

Keith was born on May 24, 1936 in Pine Grove, WV, to Hazel Janette (Miller) Moore and Jefferson Lee Moore. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956 before attending Marshall University where he graduated with a degree in Geology. On May 21, 1982, he married Mary Stefania Horvath and they raised two daughters, Christina and Jennifer. Keith worked for the United States Geological Survey in Washington, DC for over 30 years, and he often spoke fondly of his experiences working in geological sites across the Western United States before retiring in 1995. Keith enjoyed gardening, spending time in the mountains and was an avid follower of automobiles – old and new.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Jefferson Moore, and sister, Patsy Carol Fish. He is survived by his wife, Mary Stefania Moore, two daughters Christina (Michael) Driskill of Glen Allen, and Jennifer (Trent) O’Brien of North Chesterfield; one son Samuel Moore; and two granddaughters Hazel and Genevieve Driskill of Glen Allen.

To honor Keith, memorial services will held later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Keith be remembered with a donation to the National Park Foundation.
