Sadie Louise Weekley,
91, of Middlebourne died Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born in Frew, Tyler County, WV the daughter of the late Laymon Loren and Ollie Leona (Gregory) Thomas on June 28, 1931.
Sadie was a member of the Magnolia High School Class of 1949. She held many jobs through the years including telephone operator, secretary at PPG Industries, clerk for the Town of Middlebourne and employee of the Tyler County Circuit Clerk office. She enjoyed being a mom, but was happiest being âMaã to her grands and great grands. She was well known for sending cards for all occasions. She loved sharing the recipe for her well-loved peanut butter sheet cake as well as Maás Crunch, which has become a family favorite. Sadie enjoyed lunch dates with her friends. She was a member of the Middlebourne United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, serving as treasurer for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landis Gerald (2009) and their son, Thomas Gerald (1970); brother and sister-in-law, Brooks and Phyllis Thomas; brothers-in-law, Karroll Booth and Lloyd Weekley. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Weekley and her husband, Terry and Jillann Westbrook and her husband, Cloyde both of Middlebourne, WV; grandchildren, Maggie (Danny) Fisher, Benjamin (Tara) Weekley, Owen Westbrook and Annie Grace Westbrook; five great grandchildren, Addison Weekley, Morgan Fisher, Zoe Fisher, Sadie Lauren Weekley and Beau Weekley; sisters-in-law, Sara Hardman Weekley of Virginia and Lois Booth of Pennsylvania.
She will be sadly missed by her special friend, Sybil Gorby, as well as her caregivers, Julia, Loranna, Diane, Linda, Sharon and Sandy. The family would like to thank Journey Hospice for their compassionate care.
Friends received 4-8 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Furbee-Williams Funeral Home, 217 Main St., Middlebourne. Friends also received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Middlebourne United Methodist Church, East Street, Middlebourne with Pastor Chuck Sapp officiating. Burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Alma, WV.
