Streets, Twyla Jean
Streets, Twyla Jean, 83, of New Martinsville, formerly of Pine Grove, died on October 21, 2008, at New Martinsville Health Care Center.
She was a member of the Pine Grove Church of God. She was chaplain of the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 81 in Pine Grove.
She was born on September 12, 1925, in Pine Grove, the daughter of the late Frank and Bernice (Gaylord) Thomas.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy “Bean” Streets (June 3, 1998); two sons, Edward “Koke” and Freddie Streets; a granddaughter, Jeannie Streets; and a brother, Bob Thomas.
Surviving are three sons, Mike Streets and Denny (Darlene) Streets, both of Pine Grove, and Fred (Mary Ann) Streets of Metz; four daughters, Patsy (Bob) Schutt of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., Terry (Guy) Bassett of Beckley, W.Va., Elva (Bill) Swan of Middlebourne, and Erica Streets of East Lynn, W.Va.; 35 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, where services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. with James “Bud” Bassett officiating. Interment in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Hastings.
