On Thursday evening at 6:00 pm, the members of the Paden City Business forum met in the Jess Brown Hall. The meeting was conducted by Lisa Bohrer. She is affiliated with the Wetzel Tyler Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Bohrer first introduced the members of Paden City’s business community that were present. She also explained that the “Freedom 250 Patriot Pitch Competition” is being held and the winner of a prize of $2000.00 would be announced this coming September.

The evening’s meeting was for different community businesses, to introduce themselves and explain how they began their businesses, and some of the challenges they ran into and how they conquered them.

Amy Gaines was the first to present her business and explain how she developed a fitness class. She first began a program in Ohio and she quickly learned that it was something she would like to bring to Paden City. After securing a room in the Cornerstone Building, she began daily classes. She prides herself on the fact that each day’s work out takes on a different challenge and style of physical exercise. The classes have been hugely accepted.

The next business owner was Brittany Mason. She has worked for several years developing the local program known as Cheernastics. Her programs are well attended and their programs and shows are enjoyed by not only the children’s parents, but all who see them performed. Her programs can have as many as fifty kids at different ages learning how to work gymnastics and cheer into a dance art form.

Mickey Guerrera is a young man that had a real vision of building a business even while still in high school. His auto detailing business has really taken off and the demand for his business services is continually expanding. At the present time his operations covers eleven counties. He has also negotiated with several car dealerships to perform detailing on its cars.

One of the first businesses to locate in the Cornerstone building was Polished Look by Brook. Ms. Brook built up her business of applying artificial nails to hands. She has refined her skills and is looking to add more to her line of services including fiberglass nails. As of now, when Brook begins applying them, she will be the first in the area.

Ms. Bohrer also introduced to the business owners the business of Jake Pierce Ceramics. His shop is located in the former art room of the Cornerstone Building.

After the presentations were presented, the business owners were given a survey to answer questions concerning their business. Questions such as, how do you decide the price of services? After completing the questionnaire, the members shared their answers with those present, to give others answers they may not have thought of. Each new answer could add valuable information on how others-built business in a small town.

The next meeting of the Paden City Business groups will be July 23, 2026 at 6:00 pm in Jess Brown Hall.
