Schupbach’s Celebrate 50 Years
Fifty percent of all marriages in the United States end in obesity. Sadly, Ron and Monette Schupbach are statistics. Ronald Lee Schupbach and Monette Lee Nichols were married on August 14, 1971, at the First Baptist Church in New Martinsville, WV with Rev. B.L. Withers officiating the double ring ceremony. Ron, a graduate of Magnolia High School and a multi-instrument, multi-engine rated pilot, is the son of the late Amos “Jun” Lewis Schupbach, Jr. and Alma Lee Brookover Schupbach. Monette, a graduate of River High School and ‘homeroom mother of the year’ for thirteen consecutive years, is the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Arthur Nichols, Sr. and Pansy “Patty” Evelyn Wright Nichols Metz.
As President Nixon took the nation off the gold standard, Ron and Monette would begin their five-decade long journey together. Both were instrumental in owning and operating Schupbach’s Valley Motor Co., Inc., serving New Martinsville and the greater Ohio Valley for more than fifty years. In their retirement, Ron and Monette enjoy traveling throughout the United States.
Friends are welcome to drop-in at a small gathering that will be held at the VFW Post 9930 in Duffy, Ohio, with light refreshment on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 1PM to 5PM. In lieu of cards, the couple asks that you contribute in their name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014, www.michaeljfox.org, or donate to a charity of your choice.
