Hoods Celebrate 35 Years

Minonk, Illinois – Max and Carol Hood of Minonk will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at a later date.

Max Hood formally of Folsom, W.Va. and Carol Capponi McCullar of Minonk, IL were married April 12, 1984 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk by Pastor Donald Kumpf.

They are parents of Julie (Mark) McNamara, Minonk; Kellie Glick, Farmerville; Matt (Loanna) Hood, Blue Springs, MO; Shane (Amanda Brennecke) Hood, Christal City, MO; Cole Hood, Brenham, TX; Adam (Jessica Baldwin) Hood, Minonk and an America Foreign Exchange daughter, Laura Luche from Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. They have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Max worked for the El Paso-Gridley School District, driving a school bus for 18 years – retiring in 2002, and drove a semi-truck for Meierhofer Farming and Trucking – retiring in 2018. Carol taught school for the Putman County School District for four years, and for the Minonk-Dana-Rutland, Fieldcrest School District for 31 years – retiring in 2002. Carol and Max have also owned and operated the East Side Dog Grooming Shop in Minonk for 39 years.
