Monseaus Celebrate 50 Years
Vincent F. Monseau and Kathleen “Kay” Helmick Monseau, of New Martinsville, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. A family holiday get-together will mark the occassion. They were married December 17, 1967 at the Evangel Baptist Church in Weirton by the Rev. Nat Phillips.
Kathleen is the daughter of Donna L. Helmick and the late E. Clyde Helmick, Jr. Vincent is the son of the late Madeline Barone Nezick Monseau Sessie and Edward A. Monseau.
Dr. and Mrs. Monseau are graduates of Weir High School and West Liberty University. Dr. Monseau also holds graduate education degrees from West Virginia University. He has been an educator for more than 50 years and retired in 2004 from West Liberty University after 31 years as a professor, wrestling coach, and administrator. He also served as the principal at River High School in Hannibal, Ohio from 2004 to 2012. Early in his career, he taught and coached in Ohio at Germantown, and in W.Va. at Oak Glen High School, Charleston High School, and Weir High School, and at Peru State College, located in Peru, Nebraska. Presently he serves as a substitute teacher and assistant wrestling coach in Wetzel County, W.Va.
Mrs. Monseau, a secretary for more than 30 years, retired from West Liberty University as an administrative secretary in 2008 after 20 years of service. In the years prior, she was employed at Weir High, West Liberty Elementary, and West Liberty Christian Church.
The couple has three children: Dr. Vinnie (Amanda) Monseau, Midlothian, Va.; Dr. Anissa Monseau (Danny) Anderson, New Martinsville; and Dr. Aaron J. Monseau, Morgantown. They have seven grandchildren: Alavia, Kayna, and Jessa Anderson, New Martinsville; Bianca and Mason Monseau, Morgantown; and Annaliese and Alessandra Monseau, Midlothian, Va.
