Gene and Essie Helmic of New Martinsville will be celebrating their 60th anniversary on Aug. 15. An open house will be hosted by the couple’s children on Aug. 17, 1-3 p.m. at Klug Hall.

Gene and Essie are the parents of Mike (Billie Jo), Regina Robinson, Teresa Peck (all of New Martinsville), Bob (Debbie) of Shalimar, Fla., and Cathy (Jim) Jordan of Albuquerque, N.M. They have 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
