Carl and Dewie Kernan of Wileyville celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 26.

They were united in marriage on Nov. 26, 1972, at the Methodist Church in New Martinsville with the late Rev. William Grandstaff officiating.

A surprise open house was held on Nov. 10, 2012, in their honor.

Carl is the son of the late Francis and Ruth Kernan. Dewie is the daughter of Phyllis and Roger Ault and the late Wesley Lancaster.

They are the proud parents of one daughter, Karla Kernan of New Martinsville.
