Mr. and Mrs. David Dwight Decker

Sheila Ann Matheny and David Dwight Decker were united in marriage on May 16 at the Marietta Shrine Club. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Jim Kelly, a friend of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Paul Frum and the late Virginia (Jenny) Frum and the step-daughter of Louise Frum of Bens Run. Sheila has been employed by Kraton Polymers in Belpre, Ohio, for the past nine years.

The groom is the son of Evelyn Decker and the late Dean (Pat) Decker of Marietta. Dave is the owner of Decker Construction Company.

The elegant bride was escorted by her father. Sheila wore a self-designed off-the-shoulder, ivory chiffon full length gown; the bodice was embellished by sequins and pearls. The gown was enhanced by a detachable flowing chiffon train. The bride wore a pearl studded headband and carried a hydrangea and ivory rose bouquet that she created.

All the centerpieces and wedding decorations were designed and created by the bride and bridesmaid Debbie Johnston.

The maid of honor was Tori Melissa Matheny, daughter of the bride, who wore a soft chiffon yellow floor length gown. Bridesmaid Temperance Kay Matheny, daughter of the bride, was wearing a chiffon lilac gown and Debbie Johnston, long-time friend of the bride, wore a stunning deep violet gown. Debbie Johnston is the owner and operator of Grants Rental that was instrumental in making the wedding beautiful and memorable. All the bridesmaids carried a bouquet of hydrangea and yellow roses. Katlynn Vincent, granddaughter of the bride, was the flower girl. Kati wore a tea length white dress adorned with lilac flowers. Kati showered the isle with yellow rose petals.

The best man was Eddie Pahl, life-long friend and business partner of the groom. The groomsman was Paul Frum, proud father of the bride. Ushers were Matt Miller, Pat Decker, Aaron Cheesman, and Craig Frum.

Lynn Richardson and Alyssa Johnston served as receptionists for the 180

guests and attendees. The bride and groom were honored with the attendance of special guests-Sheila’s Aunt Pearl Williamson and family of Sistersville and David’s Aunt Kate Anderson and family of Marietta.

The unique ivory wedding cakes were white with a strawberry filling and a chocolate with a Bavarian cream filling, accompanied with a variety of round cakes with dual chocolate and vanilla layers, all frosted with a buttercream icing. An evening of delicious refreshments organized by Daneen Decker, music by Jack Horton, and dancing followed the sunset ceremony at the Marietta Shrine Club.

Following a honeymoon to Riviera Mia, Mexico, the couple resides in Parkersburg.
