A Tanker truck lost control and ran off the road along Rt. 2, near Bob Evans in New Martinsville around 8 am on Christmas Eve. Responding to the accident were first responders from New Martinsville Fire Department, Emergency Personnel, and local police agencies. The truck driver just missed a utility pole and damaged a large section of guard rail. It was reported there was some fuel spillage which was controlled at the scene. “The truck was a tanker hauling TDI but only had residue in the tank. The only leakage that I’m aware of was some diesel fuel from a Ruptured fuel filter. Fire Units did place booms across Williams run in case of more spillage. The tanker truck was the only one involved and the driver was not injured., “ said Steve Yoho, Director Wetzel County OEM/E-911 in a message sent to the Wetzel Chronicle.
