The popular event has had several programs for the kids in the community including Oglebay Zoo to You, where kids and adults can get an up close view of some of the Zoo’s small creatures and even an opportunity for some of the little ones to pet or hold them.

The program also offered kids the chance to learn about magic from The Magic of Bill Stokes, a local magician who performs eye and hand tricks to delight the visitors.

Participants also got to enjoy a “4th of July Eve Party” at the library, and take part in LEGO Day. The library offered an interesting National Geographic Dig Kit Day, and the local Paden City Volunteer Fire Department taught the kids and adults about fire safety. During the summer reading program a total of 431 books were checked out, which shows the success of the program as kids and others take up reading. Probably the best pastime for young people and adults is to read a book. However the local library is much more than books, it’s a place of relaxation, a gathering place for kids activities, and a great place to get on a computer.

Summer reading programs keep kids sharp between school years. Book clubs and craft nights give adults reason to get out of the house. Paden City librarians have been helping families for generations. It’s the last place around where the point isn’t to sell you something, it’s to help you find something.

The Paden City Library has been a staple of the community for decades, thanks to the support of many different organizations and county wide supporters it’s guaranteed to be around for decades more.
