Folsom Fire Department Receives Funding

By Ed Parsons - Editor | Jul 8, 2026

The Folsom Fire Department serving communities all along Rt. 20 in Wetzel County, plus highways and byways in between, received $60,000 on Saturday June 7, for the re-pavement of their parking lot.

West Virginia Senators Charles Clements and Chris Rose and Delegate Clay Riley presented checks to Fire Chief Jimmy Glasscock II, in a ceremony at the Firehall.

The Folsom Fire Department and EMS service are very active throughout the area and the entire county. In attendance for the check presentation was President Jimmy Glasscock Sr., Tim Glasscock, James Gump, Jamie Wade, and her husband Wade, all members of the Department.

The old parking lot is in disrepair and the new upgrade to the lot will provide the department with a much needed place to park and take better care of their vehicles.

Thanks to the State Senators and Delegate for helping meet the needs of the county and this fine volunteer group from Folsom. That’s good leadership and dedication from both the state and the recipients.

On a side note I wish to thank the Department for taking the time to give my great grandson an enjoyable experience in the Squad 1 Fire Truck. He said it was a much better one then he rode in at Kennywood park.

The Folsom Volunteer Fire Dept. is located at 28372 Shortline Hwy, along Rt. 20 in the small community of Folsom, WV.
